Hi Rob, thanks for the feedback which is a little concerning. The Wave+ doesn`t come with a heritage sheath as standard so we make up this item by replacing the standard sheath with the heritage sheath - it looks like we may well have taken out the original sheath and inadvertently not replaced it with the heritage sheath. You can see we make this a new product, as we also add a new label to the box to show what`s inside. Alternatively, something is not quite right as there should not be fingerprints on the knife, the only reason for that would be if we were to spotcheck or add engraving and if so it should be cleaned afterwards. I`ll email you directly to see if we can get to the bottom of this for you. Thank you, Jude

5 The service from multi-tool was as usual really good, competitive prices and fast delivery. The Wave + is of Leathermans usual high quality I can’t really find fault it there are cheaper makes on the market but leatherman products are made to last a lifetime. Lesley

Some time later I was contacted by Multitool Store customer service department who had trawled through all the recent purchases in order to contact me by telephone. They then sent me a replacement knife free of charge and accepted my (now used) knife in return. Whilst the first error was definitely cause for complaint their recovery deserves the highest praise. 5 It's a Leatherman. It does what you expect and very well. It's solid, it's virtually indestructible and if you do damage it, it's covered with the warranty. The only thing it doesn't cover is leaving it in a ceiling space miles away from your home. Ben Thompson

Be aware that this isn't UK legal as a pocket carry due to the fixed blade, however I'm most always doing something or other which requires tools so the reasonable excuse box is ticked. I make leather goods so I've made my own sheath to hold both the tool and the bit kit, however the nylon sheath it comes in is reasonable quality for what it is, particularly the snap which is nice and strong, as well as branded. On our third attempt at calling we got through to lodge our complaint. The item arrived days after our friends birthday—so he didn't get it. When we opened the package we then realised that one of the things that was supposed to be included, had been left out... Total shambles. Although a very kind sales representative called Millie helped us in the end, our experience with you has been really pretty terrible. Roger How

5 Great Multi tool, my main downside is the scissors... if you have lots of scissor requirments I think the Surge is a better option. But its big enough to be usefule, good size blades and pliers and small enough to comfortably go into my bag or pocket. MR LOUIS J SALIN

(rain, mud, cutting fabrics, packages, wires, tightening nuts and bolts and aslo common uses as scredriver and very sharp little scissors) Since received is always been with me for work. Moslty been using the pliers and blades, these always used with care still don't need resharpening. Very satisfied with my purchase, well packed and quick delivery. Anonymous

5 Since purchasing this multi-tool before Christmas, it's not left my side. I use it all the time at work (maintenance officer at a care home). The main cutting blade is shaving sharp and extra care needs to be taken folding it away, as it will take the top of your thumb off. I know this from experience. Screwdriver bits are surprisingly effective and are workable when you're not carrying a proper tool kit, as are the pliers and wire cutters. The wire stripper takes practice to perfect, but works well once you've got the knack. The only negative, and it's a personal one, is the wood saw. I'm sure it's no worse than any other wood saw of it's type but why bother? They're all too short to be useful for cutting anything thicker than a pencil. The nylon pouch is well made and the closure has a nice positive feel to it without it being a struggle to open with one hand. Leatherman aren't the cheapest on the market but you do get a well crafted tool that is a pleasure to use and sits in the hand comfortably. It's constructed of decent materials and has a fantastic guarantee. After using lesser muti-tools, I'm very happy with the quality. If I lost it tomorrow, I would defo' replace with another wave+, despite the expense. Michael Fowler

5 I finally got round to buying one of these Multitool's. It is pricey but you are paying for quality and it also has a great range of tools etc. Not forgetting it comes with a 25yr guarantee. The scissors are nice and sharp and all the bladed tools are very sharp. Another thing I like about it is with a bit of practice you can open the blade or the serrated blade with only one hand. 5 This Leatheman multitool was purchased for my son. I have had the original Wave for more than 30 years and it is still as good as new. The replaceable blades in the jaws of the pliers of the plus version are the only real enhancement in all those years so it proves how good the original was. 5 Review of the Leatherman Wave+ I carry out daily maintenance duties at a zoo and theme park, and have become increasingly aware that many simple tasks could easily be carried out, with a multi tool, and to this end, the Wave+ appeared to fit the role perfectly. I didn't want a multitude of tools that will never be used, preferring function over form. A compact shape and design was also another requirement. The tool did arrive with a few sharp edges, which were quickly addressed with the use of some 2500 grit paper. It was more of an attention to detail issue than anything else. One of the reasons for purchasing this model was the interchangeable bit head. Stupidly, I assumed that normal hex bits could be used, but they can't. It was a slight disappointment, but it is totally my fault for not carrying out proper research. The Wave+ has quickly become an indispensable tool, and I wouldn't now be without one. If I were able to redesign it, I would make it to accept conventional hex bits, and also add a sharp pin, for splinter removal. With those two additions, it would be my perfect multi tool. It still gets a straight 10 out of 10 from me though. Eddie

5 I've had my Leatherman Wave+, a month now and love it. It is never far away, sitting on my belt or in my day pack, which my old Gerber mp400 did and served me well until I misplaced it. In truth, while I wasn't a huge fan of the half-serrated blade, I loved my Gerber. It was light, and practical, and I didn't see the need to buy a Leatherman. But the January sales came and after living without for 3 months I decided to try out the Leatherman. The Wave+ is much heavier, and feels very robust compared to the Gerber. It is also really stiff, which I attributed to it being new and packed with grease, but even after several liberal applications of WD40 and 3-in-1 penetrating oil, it remains really stiff with no signs of loosening. I like the two blades and a tiny yet decent saw blade. I also like the knife sharpener, but the irony is that as It is attached you can't sharpen its blades with it I also think the scissors are better designed and love the interchangeable screwdriver bit option. Would I recommend it? Yes, if you are looking for a really robust multitool with a lot of tools on it then this is a really good option.
