1This is my first experience with Leatherman, and my last. The extender does not release the bit, no mater how hard you try, or how much force you use. I have since found out that this fault has been prevalent for some time, but Leatherman has not had the decency to either address this, or let the buyer know that there might be a problem. I have been using Bushcraft tools for over fifty years, so this is not a question of me not knowing the kit. Shame on you Leatherman, wake up to this and get your finger out.Rick Sharpe

2Very disappointed with the nylon pouch as it came without the elasticated storage facility on the side. I purchased the hole kit including the bit extender but had nowhere to put it Rather pointless selling this kit as not fit for purposes. I emailed multi store but no reply. V

4Lets start with the most impressive part the extender, I carry my Surge on me most days at work as a handyman and I regularly use this tool when I am up a ladder, in a crawl space in a loft and so on it just saves me going back to my tool box all the time. The extender just turns your bit kit into fully functional tools, the extra reach it give you is brilliant, if you have your tool at 90 degrees you have a T type bar which gives you so much more leverage. The bit kit is great for a load of small jobs on the hop. Oil is good for the maintenance of your tool but the bit kit pouch is a little redundant for me as I keep half of my bit kit in my Surge Nylon pouch and the other half in my toolbox.Brian Dudman

5Must have item so versatile with a bit kit just a shame how the free p4 is the most expensive and does not support a free pocket clip i think leatherman should fit a clip on both the p2 & p4 or send its customers one for free i love all my tools i have just that one main issue for me i will not be paying 9 quid or bucks for a clip when p2 has one just an insult tbh lol rant overRick prince

The bits and the extender are well made and the nylon pouch that comes with it is a much better pouch than the one that comes with the Signal multitool as standard. I have actually switched the two pouches around so that the one that came with my multitool now holds my bits and extender.
Having some extra mineral oil is also always useful although the bottle does seem to have a tendency to have oil residue on it after use even when fully wiped down and cleaned and the oil does seem to leak out of the cap if the bottle is not sitting upright.
If you are going to buy the Signal Multitool or any other multitool with a bit tool on it, then I would recommend spending the little extra to purchase a bit kit. Additionally if you are just getting the standard pouch with your multitool then the nylon version that comes in this set (assuming it fits your model of multitool) is worth it.Lhiam Croft

5I used the bit kit and extender to adjust the backsprings on a couple of knives and they did job as well as I'd hoped. The M6 hex bit and extender were great for fitting threaded inserts.

5I'd purchased the Leathermens Wave, so while I had the money I treated myself and also purchased this bit of kit too. I love my gadgets and amazed at how many tool bits are included in this Deluxe Set. Ok, I might not get round to using all of the screw bits etc but you never know when you're out and about and something breaks and you'd wish you had that certain size tool/bit on your person or in your ruck sack, tool box.
